Abstract: Based on the theory of audience analysis, this article takes consumers of Foreign Children's Literature as the research subject, aiming at exploring the factors influencing Chinese audiences' reading preferences. The methodology used in this paper is data collection and questionnaire. Shortcomings in the categorization of reading materials have apparently been revealed despite continued national reading campaigns. China has not yet developed a thorough method for grading readers. At present, new media is gaining popularity among children's organizations and reaching youngsters at an accelerated rate. However, several of the more popular reading software in China have the problems of arbitrary age division and ambiguous classification of Foreign Children's Literature. All of these provide children's books yet restrict kids from using these. This has a detrimental effect on fostering children's independent reading ability and good reading habits. In addition to the popularity of the work itself, the novelty and interest of the content, the values presented, and the logical design of the book's graphic structure, trust on the public hourse, marketing tactics, best-selling booklists on e-reading platforms, and recommendations from people such as authorities or professors all have a distinct edge in influencing consumers' choices. Building a diverse assessment standard that satisfies Chinese children's reading demands, standardizing the categorization of children's books, and guiding the growth of the book market through responsible media consumption are crucial steps in improving the children's reading service system.

Abstract: For the majority of modern history, social psychologists have been interested in the problem of prejudice. There are several theories that explain why prejudice exists and how it can be lessened. Due to the fact that societies all over the world need to deal with a variety of different groups of people, prejudice between individuals and groups proves to be a significant barrier to positive relations. The problem of prejudice can be thus seen also among the Gulf Arabs towards migrants. It has been continuous and there is little sign that it is subsiding. Considering these facts the paper made an attempt to address the issue of Gulf Arab Muslim prejudice towards migrants. In doing so it has considered the broader issue of prejudice. The paper provided not only a social and political explanation but essentially a psychological one through psychological theories on why prejudice happens and why the victims accept it. The paper also provided solutions, assessments, strengths, and limitations on dealing with prejudice. It has used established psychological, social, and political theories to explain and address prejudice. The paper found that prejudice is still strong in many cultures including Gulf Arab Muslim culture and that it could be solved through proposed policies.

Abstract: The essence of this study is to promote the notion that religion is not reduced to spirituality alone but has the capacity to enhance development at any level of which economic factor is key and crucial to the development of a society or nation. Religions are ubiquitous across human society. It is natural to speculate that they may affect important economic outcome, such as economic growth as many have done dating at the very least to Max Weber’s (1905) celebrated work. One fundamental aspect that is common to all forms of religion is that they prescribe rules of behaviour, or practices that constrain followers. In other words, religious practices are a kind of informal institution imposing constraints that structure economic, political and social interactions. The aim of this paper is to understand the interaction between religion and economic performance in Nigeria and this study is motivated by the influence of religion in fostering the Nigerian economy. The methodology applied in this paper is socio-religious and comparative. Findings from this research shows that some activities performed in religious centres have basically economic motives. The study recommends the need for religious bodies to contribute to the economic growth of the society and concludes that religion is crucial for national economic development.

Abstract: Writing teaching is a notably important way to implement the core literacies of English discipline in China, which includes language ability, thinking quality, culture awareness and learning ability. Nevertheless, English learners, in general, have little interest in English writing class and show unsatisfactory English writing levels with teachers putting much attention to the accuracy of language at the cost of the development of thinking quality and cultural awareness. To advance students' core literacies and to address the problems of writing teaching, the researcher constructs a model of English writing teaching in junior high schools on basis of scaffolding instruction theory under core literacies. In this model, teachers set the goals of core literacy development in line with students' zone of proximal development and appropriately apply scaffolding to facilitate learners’ core literacies. Besides, the specific procedures of the model consist of five steps within three phases, that is, creating a context to stimulate learners’ interest in writing, providing scaffolding to boost their core literacies and organize collaborative learning to expand their learning resources in the pre-writing phase; withdrawing scaffolding properly so as to improve learners’ writing skills in the while-writing phase; launching evaluation to check the implementation of core literacies in the post-writing phase. In short, the study aims to provide teachers with effective strategies for writing teaching and help students achieve the goals of core literacies.

Abstract: In the post-epidemic era, the profits of some enterprises have dropped sharply, for which prefer to choose employees with practical and productive skills in order to reduce their training expenses. This situation brings new challenges to university language education, especially the teaching of English-Chinese interpretation courses. At present, there are several problems in the English-Chinese interpretation courses, such as students’ weak listening and speaking skills, teachers outdate teaching methods and separation of learning and use of teaching materials, which are not conducive to the development of students’ English practice and output ability. This paper introduces the “Production-oriented approach” theory, which emphasizes language output, into the university English-Chinese interpretation teaching, carries out teaching reform in terms of teaching objectives, teaching design and teaching evaluation, and focuses on the practice of three links: driving, facilitating and evaluating. The results of the comparison study between the experimental class and the regular class show that the production-oriented approach has obvious advantages in promoting students’ output in English. Applying the production-oriented approach in the English-Chinese interpretation course can stimulate students’ interest in learning, enhance their self-confidence in English-Chinese conversion, improve their English application ability and employment competitiveness, and increase their employment rate. In this regard, teachers should actively adopt the teaching concept of Production-oriented approach, aim at cultivating students’ language output ability in classroom teaching, increase the practical aspects of students’ language output as much as possible, combine the input learning of language knowledge and output application, promote both, guide students to use in learning, use in learning, and cultivate application-oriented talents with language output and practical ability.
